A recent project led by our representative David Olivier, had our team in the Quebec City area. Our client was relocating their mechanical room and needed our rental equipment installed temporarily before the de-installation of their equipment for their food processing operations to proceed for the duration of the relocation.
The setup included four chillers, each with a cooling capacity of 155 tons. These chillers are responsible for removing heat from the cooling medium to maintain the desired temperature. We used over 500 tons of 3000GPM cooling for the process of a temporary installation. We installed our units in the backyard of our client’s location; therefore, our client needed a permit from the city to keep our 4 trailer-mounted chillers placed on the road. Three pumps were required, each pump had a flow of 1000GPM used to circulate the cooling medium through the system, ensuring an adequate flow for efficient heat transfer. Combined with a VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) that helps optimize energy consumption and adjust pump speed based on the cooling demands. Our team coordinated with the client’s electrician to provide us with more than 1400 amps at 600 volts that were required to power our equipment.
This project was installed during a 3-day period, over which the weather had its fair share of ups and downs. Through the hot and humid days and those raining non-stop, we are proud of our service team at HVAC Rentals and their resilience to get any job done!
Generating 500 tons of cooling
Generating a flow of 1000 GPM
Embarking on a recent project in the Quebec City area, our adept team, sans specific names, orchestrated the relocation of a critical mechanical room for a valued client. The project entailed a meticulous temporary installation featuring a cluster of robust chillers, strategically positioned in the client’s backyard. While adhering to city regulations for the placement of our trailer-mounted chillers on the road, our team demonstrated adeptness in securing necessary permits.
This intricate setup involved an ensemble of chillers, meticulously designed for optimal performance during the transitional phase of the client’s food processing operations. The cooling system employed comprised three high-capacity pumps, each engineered to circulate a substantial 1000 gallons per minute (GPM) of cooling medium, ensuring an efficient and consistent flow for the heat transfer process.
Enhancing the system’s efficiency was the integration of a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD), a sophisticated component that intelligently regulated energy consumption and adjusted pump speed based on the dynamic cooling demands. This not only optimized operational efficiency but also underscored our commitment to sustainable and resource-conscious practices.
To complement this sophisticated setup, our team collaborated seamlessly with the client’s electrician to secure a robust power supply, exceeding 1400 amps at 600 volts. This collaborative effort ensured the seamless and uninterrupted operation of our equipment, a crucial element in the success of the project.
Undoubtedly, this project posed its fair share of challenges, ranging from hot and humid weather to relentless rain. Yet, our HVAC Rentals team exhibited remarkable resilience, working diligently over a three-day period to overcome these adversities. This dedication reaffirms our commitment to delivering unparalleled service, irrespective of external challenges, and showcases our team’s unwavering pursuit of excellence in every project we undertake.
Undoubtedly, the success of our recent project in the Quebec City area hinged not only on technical expertise but also on our team’s ability to navigate unpredictable weather conditions. Over the course of the three-day installation period, Mother Nature presented us with a diverse array of challenges.
The hot and humid days tested our team’s endurance as they worked tirelessly to ensure the seamless functioning of the temporary installation. Operating under these conditions necessitated extra precautions to safeguard both the team and the intricate equipment involved.
However, the challenges did not end there. The weather took a turn, subjecting us to relentless rain, which introduced a new set of complexities. Ensuring the stability and efficiency of the installation amidst the downpour required meticulous planning and adaptability from our team. Protective measures were implemented to shield the equipment from the elements, and additional safety protocols were enacted to guarantee the well-being of our personnel.
The ability of our HVAC Rentals team to persevere through these weather-related obstacles showcased not only their technical prowess but also their resilience in the face of adversity. It underscored our commitment to delivering results irrespective of external conditions, reinforcing our reputation for excellence in every project we undertake. In the end, overcoming these weather challenges became a testament to the dedication and adaptability of our team.
